Do you wish you knew how to make your own custom blinkies? It's easy! This blinkie tutorial will show you how. If you don't know how to make a blinkie, click here for my tutorial on how to make a simple animated blinkie. The tutorial works for both Paint Shop Pro 7 and 8, with just a minor change.
Experiment with different font styles first. Using a differnt font can really make a big difference in the appearance of your blinkie. The ones shown below are made simply by using different fonts.
Blinkies, as shown in this tutorial, don't have to always stay the same size or shape. By adding a small icon or graphic you can totally change your blinkie into something special.
To add an image or icon alongside your blinky, do this after you make your base, as a separate image, the copy and paste it as a new layer onto your blinkie base, so you can place it where ever you would like near your blinkie. Don't forget to merge visible and duplicate your blinkie base.
These is another one I have added a tube I have to, by making it as small as possible.
Blinkies don't have to stay the same basic size either! You can make them as small or large as you want. Shown below are a couple I have made as I was learning.

Using your paintbrush to make your lights as shown in this blinkie tutorial is not the only option. Tubes can be used too! Have fun using tubes and making them as small as possible in place of your lights. You can use tubes along with your lights as well.
Also popular are "block" or "bouncing block" blinkies. I liked the blocks, but as they were so small in some styles, so I used a tube to make my "blocks" and added letters to each block. This is one of several I made.
